For one day, anyone in the US can buy the Google Glass

On April 15, Google will begin what is billed as the biggest expansion of the Explorer program to date by allowing anyone in the United States to buy the eyewear online for a limited time.

In a post at Google+ social network, Google announced that anyone who purchases the Google Glass will be able to join the ranks of ‘explorers’ who have trialed the devices prior to their launch.

“Our explorers are mums, artists, surgeons, rockers, and each new explorer has brought a new perspective that is making Glass better,” Google said in the post.

Amazon launches Fire TV device

Amazon launches Fire TV device

Amazon announced on 2 April 2014 a new media streaming device to compete with rivals such as Netflix.

The Amazon Fire TV device, which fits nicely in one’s hand and connects to television sets, aims to boost the US online giant’s efforts to offer its Prime members with access to the company’s own Video on Demand store and Instant Video service on top of delivering streaming music, movies, and games.

“It’s a tiny box with huge specs,” said Amazon Kindle vice president Peter Larsen who unveiled the device during its launch.

The box comes with a remote control device that allows users to listen to music or to play games with a separate controller.
